Kolesár Ján

Každý portrét maľovaný s citom je portrétom umelca a nie jeho modelu.

Model je iba podnetom, príležitosťou.

Born 10.10.1965 in Michalovce, Slovakia (a half hour from Andy Warhol's family roots), Jano Kolesár's interests beyond painting include Italian culture, hockey (has played for local Slovak teams Beavers & Pirates since 1994), the flute (played in band Misael from 1994-1998), feminine shapes (specifically thighs/legs), Napoleon’s artistic integrity and tastes, historical strategies behind great military conquests, the music of Dead Can Dance, and film soundtracks.

When asked recently about his motivation to paint, Kolesár responded, “It’s my life – I don’t know what else to do.”

His primary art inspirations are the works of Leonardo DaVinci, Frans Hals, Gustav Klimt, Andy Warhol, Jan Saudek, and Albín Brunovský.

Kolesár's past series include classic portraits, Italian architecture, and surreal themes inspired by Pierrot and Pinocchio.

zatiaľ v skúšobnej verzii :D
